DC Cheema, MNA Tahira Auranzeb visit Nullah Leh, review water situation

RAWALPINDI, Jul 22 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema on Tuesday visited the Nullah Leh at Gawalmandi Bridge to review the water situation in the wake of heavy rain.

Member of the National Assembly Madam Tahira Aurangzeb was also present on the occasion.

DC Cheema directed the officials of water and Sanitation Agency and other departments to continuously monitor the situation and make arrangements for water drainage accordingly.

He expressed satisfaction that heavy rain had been pouring in Islamabad and Rawalpindi since Monday morning, but no problem was faced due to the absence of any obstruction in the flow of water due to the cleanliness of the Nullah Leh.

DC Cheema later visited the bridge on the Soan River near the High Court Registry to review the situation.

Earlier, the deputy commissioner chaired a meeting at his office regarding the dengue situation. He directed all the departments concerned to ensure implementation of the government’s orders to control the dengue situation in the current monsoon season and sought a complete briefing on the situation a 9 a.m. daily.
