DC chairs meeting to eliminate stray dogs in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Dec 29 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema on Monday chaired a key meeting to review the ongoing campaign against stray dogs across the district.
The meeting was attended by assistant commissioners from all tehsils, representatives from the Emergency and Services (E&S) departments of tehsil headquarters and teaching hospitals, and heads of other relevant departments.
During the meeting, the officials provided a detailed update on steps taken to eliminate stray dogs, and explanations were sought from officers in areas where dog bite incidents had been reported.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that public safety and protection of property must be ensured at all times, warning that any negligence would not be tolerated. It was decided that relevant departments will hold consultative meetings twice daily and take practical measures to make operations more effective.
Dr Cheema reaffirmed his commitment to make the campaign successful through a coordinated strategy, aiming to achieve a permanent resolution of the stray dog problem across the district.
