DC Astore Reviews Progress on Gorikot-Shagarthang Road Project
ASTORE,Sep 29 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Astore Neelam Ali on Tuesday inspected the under-construction Gorikot-Shagarthang Road and directed the concerned officials to complete land acquisition and compensation matters to ensure timely progress on the project.
The Deputy Commissioner visited the project site along with Assistant Commissioner Shounter Tauseeq Ahmed, Sub-Divisional Officer Ghulam Hussain and Tehsildar Zia-ur-Rehman. She inspected different sections of the road and reviewed the ongoing construction work.
Officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the progress of the project and matters related to private land required for road construction. They also briefed her about the identification and demarcation of affected land, compensation to landowners and other related issues.
Neelam Ali directed the concerned officials to complete the identification and demarcation of private land falling within the project and resolve compensation matters in accordance with the law and prescribed procedures.
She also directed the officials to expedite preparation of the award and ensure timely payment of compensation to affected landowners.
The Deputy Commissioner said that land-related matters linked with development projects should be resolved without unnecessary delay. She directed the departments concerned to complete all legal and administrative requirements while ensuring that construction work continued as planned.
She said the district administration was monitoring development projects in Astore to ensure their timely completion and was addressing public issues and development matters on a priority basis.
The district administration is also conducting field visits to monitor development schemes, construction progress, quality of work and protection of public interest.
