MULTAN, Jul 28 (APP):In a major step towards environmental protection, Dawat-e-Islami claims to have planted a remarkable 3 million saplings to combat climate change and promote a greener Pakistan.
Dr. Jamshaid, in charge of the campaign for DG Khan division, shared exclusive details with APP about the organization’s environmental initiatives and said that the immense success of their previous plantation drive, where they planted over 2.5 million saplings across the nation.
“Pakistan is grappling with the severe consequences of climate change, including frequent and devastating floods,” said Jamshaid. “To address these challenges, Dawat-e-Islami initiated a comprehensive plantation campaign,” he added.
The organization is working closely with the civic administration in various cities to identify suitable locations for plantations and ensure their proper maintenance.
“Our motto is ‘Plant a Sapling, Grow a Tree,’” he stated.
Dawat-e-Islami has authored a booklet titled “Plant Trees, Earn Rewards,” which described the profound benefits of tree plantation and its alignment with Islamic teachings.
The booklet has garnered widespread acclaim, including recognition from the World Wide Fund for Nature. It provides invaluable guidance on selecting appropriate tree species to ensure long-term environmental and societal benefits.
Jamshaid extended a heartfelt appeal to the public to join Dawat-e-Islami’s noble cause by planting trees and contributing to a sustainable future for Pakistan.
“By working together, we can mitigate the devastating impacts of climate change and create a healthier planet for generations to come,” he said.
