LAHORE, Nov 04 (APP):Punjab Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth paid a surprise visit to inspect the ongoing construction work on the Faisalabad–Chiniot dual road project and reviewed progress from Kamalpur Interchange to Tehsil Chowk Chiniot.
During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Chiniot Sufiyullah Gondal and officers of the Communication and Works Department briefed the minister on the project’s development, said a handout issued here on Tuesday.
It was informed that out of the 24-kilometre dual road, 19 kilometres of earthwork, 19 kilometres of sub-base, and 18 kilometres of base course have been completed, while asphalt work has been finished on 12 kilometres of the road.
Expressing satisfaction over the pace and quality of construction, Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth directed the officials to further accelerate work and ensure completion of the section from Faisalabad Bypass to Chiniot Bypass by December 2025. He instructed the consultant staff to properly compile and maintain all technical testing records to guarantee the project’s timely completion.
The minister was also briefed on the land acquisition process for the Chiniot–Sargodha Road. Deputy Commissioner Chiniot assured that the process would be completed soon to facilitate the next phase of development.
