LAHORE, Oct 20 (APP): Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has said that the country cannot progress with political extremism and lawlessness, while violent behavior must be eliminated.
He expressed these views while talking to media on the occasion of the turban-tying ceremony of students who completed memorization of the Holy Quran at Madrasa Jamia Masjid Kubra in Samanabad here on Monday.
Ashrafi said all religious leaders should implement the message of Pakistan. He said that Takfiri fatwas and disgracing of other schools of thought is unacceptable, adding the state, the Constitution of Pakistan and the supremacy of law must be recognized.
He said the culture of self-justification and executioner cannot continue, adding that Field Marshal Asim Munir and the government have put Pakistan’s clear position on the issue of Palestine before everyone.
Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said Israel is a terrorist and a murderer of Muslims, Saudi Arabia and other countries including Pakistan jointly signed a peace agreement with the US President, but where they supported the US President for the peace agreement, they also condemned Israeli violations.
