CTP Rawalpindi unveils traffic plan for 11th Muharram procession

RAWALPINDI, Jun 26 (APP):City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has issued a comprehensive traffic management plan for the 11th of Muharram procession to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.
According to CTP spokesperson, the procession will start from Chohar Chowk. More than 210 traffic police officers and personnel will be deployed along the procession route to manage traffic and maintain law and order.
During the procession, the road from Charing Cross to Pirwadhai Mor will remain completely closed.
Traffic heading from Saddar to Peshawar will be diverted via Westridge, while vehicles travelling from Peshawar to Saddar will be allowed to enter through Carriage Factory Road.
Misrial Road will remain closed from Chohar Chowk to Range Chowk, and traffic approaching Chohar Chowk from Misrial Road will be diverted to Range Road.
Similarly, Hali Road will remain closed from Chohar Chowk to Najam Shaheed Chowk, with traffic from Marble Factory Road being redirected towards Westridge Road.
In addition, Allahabad Road will remain closed from Ashiana Chowk to Progressive School. Vehicles travelling from Westridge towards Ashiana Chowk will be diverted through Marble Factory Road and Westridge-3.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said additional personnel have been deployed on alternate routes to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow.
He added that providing the best possible facilities to mourners, maintaining smooth traffic movement, and ensuring the safety of citizens remain the top priorities.
The CTO also directed traffic officers to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on any unattended objects and suspicious individuals during duty.
