CTP issued traffic plan for Independence Day

RAWALPINDI, Aug 12 (APP):City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has issued a comprehensive traffic plan to ensure smooth traffic flow on Independence Day in Rawalpindi district and Murree.
According to the plan, a total 750 traffic officers and traffic wardens will be deployed on duty, whereas seven special squads have been formed on major highways to prevent one-wheeling and car skidding.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Benish Fatima, urged the public to follow traffic rules on roads during the celebrations.
CTO Rawalpindi while addressing the young generation also asked them to avoid shouting or playing loud music on the occasion, do not cause noise pollution and do not disrupt the flow of traffic in any way.
She advised parents to avoid giving vehicles to young children and to closely monitor them to prevent any dangerous activities.
She also emphasized the dangers of speeding and reckless driving.
CTO Benish Fatima further said that the City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has made special traffic arrangements to provide the best travel facilities to the tourists in Murree. 233 officers and traffic wardens would perform duty and special  pickets have also been established.
Five DSPs and eight sector incharges along with 58 traffic wardens will be deployed to manage traffic flow and enforce no-parking zones at popular parks and recreational areas in Rawalpindi.
Additionally, action will be taken against vehicles with tinted glasses, unregistered vehicles, and those without number plates.
The CTO stressed the importance of allowing emergency vehicles, ambulances, and police vehicles to pass freely and called on everyone to act responsibly to ensure a safe and joyful Independence Day celebration.
