LAHORE, Jun 23 (APP):Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi on Tuesday personally monitored traffic and security arrangements for the Muharram procession in Model Town and reviewed measures taken to facilitate mourners and commuters.
During his visit, the CTO inspected the entire route of Procession No. 145-A in Model Town and met with procession organisers to inquire about traffic management arrangements.
The organisers expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and thanked the City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) for ensuring smooth traffic flow and effective facilitation measures during the procession.
Abdul Raheem Shirazi also visited diversion points, interacted with citizens and briefed traffic wardens regarding their responsibilities. He said additional personnel had been deployed to ensure maximum convenience for the public and uninterrupted traffic management. He said comprehensive parking arrangements had been made for devotees and participants attending majalis and mourning processions during Muharram.
The CTO added that traffic wardens were maintaining a vigilant watch on suspicious individuals and unattended objects as part of enhanced security measures. He said CTPL had ensured that citizens did not face traffic-related difficulties across the city despite Muharram-related road diversions.
Shirazi further said that traffic wardens were performing their duties alongside allied departments to help ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram.
