ISLAMABAD, Mar 17 (APP):Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (Retd) Zeeshan Haider chaired a meeting on Monday to review traffic arrangements in the federal capital.
An official told APP that the meeting was attended by SP Traffic, zonal DSPs, and beat officers. The zonal DSPs briefed the CTO on the flow of traffic and congestion in shopping centers and markets during Ramzan.
Highlighting the need for smooth traffic flow, he stated that additional personnel had been deployed around mosques, markets, and commercial centers. He directed all checking officers to brief deployed staff daily to ensure efficient management.
CTO Zeeshan emphasized that the last ten days of Ramzan would bring increased congestion in markets, necessitating a well-planned strategy. He instructed officers to regulate traffic effectively during peak hours to prevent blockages.
CTO warned that strict action would be taken against traffic violators to ensure compliance with regulations. Additionally, he ordered a crackdown on individuals involved in one-wheeling and drifting.
Reiterating his commitment to maintaining order, he stressed that vehicles causing disruptions would face strict legal action to keep traffic moving smoothly in the city.
