CTD playing key role in eliminating terrorism, ensuring peace: DIG

LAHORE, Oct 28 (APP):Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab, Umar Salamat, briefed trainee DSPs from the National Police Academy on the pivotal role played by CTD Punjab in eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace across the province. He emphasized that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the department has been significantly strengthened through modern infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, enhanced logistics, and improved transport facilities, which have substantially improved its operational effectiveness.
DIG Umar Salamat outlined how the CTD personnel have been equipped with advanced counter-terrorism training, ensuring they are well-prepared to tackle extremist threats with professionalism and precision. He commended the courage and sacrifices of the Counter Terrorism Force, noting that their efforts have been instrumental in thwarting the destructive plans of terrorist groups.
During the session, the DIG also took the time to address questions from the trainee DSPs, providing practical insights and sharing his experiences regarding counter-terrorism strategies and the challenges faced during field operations.
