Crackdown relaunched in Faisalabad to evacuate illegal Afghan residents

FAISALABAD, Oct 16 (APP): The district administration, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, has relaunched a crackdown to ensure the complete evacuation of illegally residing Afghan nationals from the Faisalabad division.
A meeting in this regard was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar, during which Deputy Commissioners briefed him on the ongoing operations and progress in their respective districts.
The Commissioner directed the district administration and law enforcement agencies to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued by the Punjab Home Department while conducting the evacuation process. He further instructed that Afghans engaged in business activities in various city areas be identified, their documents verified, and appropriate legal action taken where necessary.
Commissioner Anwar also directed the Municipal Corporation to clear footpaths of encroachments in coordination with the PERA force to maintain order and ensure smooth public movement.
