Crackdown on traffic violators launched

MUZZAFFARGARH, Dec 02 (APP): In a significant move to protect human lives, Muzaffargarh district police, along with traffic police and the Punjab Highway Patrol, have launched a major crackdown on traffic law violators, accompanied by an extensive awareness campaign across educational and industrial institutions.
According to a police spokesperson, joint squads conducted large-scale operations within 24 hours, resulting in the registration of 280 cases and the arrest of 280 accused in a single day. Police also impounded 280 vehicles and motorcycles for serious traffic violations.
The spokesperson added that Traffic Police imposed fines amounting to millions of rupees in just one day. The crackdown targeted individuals driving without licenses, riding without helmets, committing one-way violations, operating altered or modified vehicles, overloading vehicles, and using tinted or black windows.
Under the directions of DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, the police have also initiated awareness seminars and lectures in schools, colleges, universities, and industrial units to educate the public about newly enforced traffic laws and their role in saving lives.
The DPO emphasized that the implementation of new traffic regulations is being treated as a critical life-saving mission, and strict action will continue against all violators to reduce accidents and ensure public safety.
