ABBOTTABAD, Feb 18 (APP):The district administration Abbottabad on Wednesday has intensified its crackdown against illegal medical practices, price list violations, and encroachments as part of the Good Governance Roadmap being implemented under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Salim Akram.
In a major action to protect public health, a private clinic was sealed after it was found providing ultrasound services without the presence of a qualified doctor. Officials said the move was taken to ensure that only licensed professionals provide specialized medical services and to safeguard citizens from unsafe and illegal medical practices. The administration warned all clinic owners to ensure the availability of qualified doctors and trained staff, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against violators.
At the same time, Additional Assistant Commissioners carried out inspections across the district to ensure the implementation of official price lists and the provision of quality items to the public. During the operation, 249 shops and hotels were inspected, 11 shopkeepers were fined for violations, and four shops were sealed for failing to comply with government regulations.
Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Salim Akram also met a delegation from Mirpur to discuss complaints regarding alleged encroachments on graveyard land. He assured the delegation that the district administration would act strictly in accordance with court orders and the law, adding that no injustice would be done to anyone and all illegal encroachments would be removed through legal procedures.
The district administration has urged citizens to cooperate with authorities and report any violations related to illegal medical services, overpricing, or encroachments through the district control room, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring public safety, fair governance, and protection of public rights.
