Crackdown nets 32 drug peddlers; over 41kg of charas seized across Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Dec 04 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani ordered an intensified crackdown on narcotics, resulting in the arrest of 32 alleged suppliers and the recovery of more than 41 kilograms of charas across the district, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, the Wah Saddar Police apprehended four suspects and seized 6.910 kilograms of charas. The Race Course Police captured five alleged peddlers with 3.360 kilograms, while the Rawat Police held two men and recovered 3.340 kilograms.
The Taxila Police rounded up three suspects with 3.205 kilograms, whereas the Airport Police detained another three with 3.130 kilograms of charas. The Pirwadhai Police arrested two men with 3.035 kilograms of the contraband.
The Waris Khan Police took two suspects into custody with 2.880 kilograms, the Chaklala Police arrested two with 2.800 kilograms, and the Naseerabad Police detained two alleged peddlers with 2.720 kilograms.
The Ratta Amral Police apprehended one suspect with 2.200 kilograms, while the Morgah Police held two with 2.060 kilograms. The Kallar Syedan Police also arrested one alleged peddler with 1.650 kilograms, and the Gujar Khan Police captured one suspect with 1.610 kilograms of the contraband.
The Dhamial Police detained one man with 1.360 kilograms, while the City Police booked one accused person with 1.100 kilograms of charas.
“All possible measures are being taken to root out the drug scourge in line with the Punjab chief minister’s vision of a drug-free province,” the spokesman added.
