DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 04 (APP):The district administration has launched a crackdown on illegal Qingqi rickshaws in Dera Ismail Khan, barring vehicles registered in Bhakkar and Tank from entering the city limits.
Acting on the directives of Commissioner Dera Zafar-ul-Islam Khattak, Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Shaukat Iqbal, accompanied by DSP Traffic Chan Shah, led the operation against unregistered and unlicensed Qingqi rickshaws across the city.
According to officials, underage and unlicensed drivers will no longer be allowed to operate rickshaws, and all drivers must possess a valid CNIC, driving licence, and vehicle registration.
A formal notification has been issued to the traffic police to ensure strict implementation of the orders.
The RTA secretary stated that the operation will continue on a daily basis and any vehicle found violating the new regulations will be impounded.
He added that the campaign aims to improve road safety, regulate public transport, and prevent minors from driving unfit or unregistered vehicles within the city.
