RAWALPINDI, Jul 13 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has launched a strict crackdown against milk carriers to stop the supply of substandard and adulterated milk.
According to a PFA spokesperson, inspection teams carried out operations at Motorway Toll Plaza, Thalian, and Chakri Interchange.
During these checks, 103,000 liters of milk from 20 milk transport vehicles were tested.
Out of the total, 5,500 liters of milk were found to be mixed with water.
The adulterated milk was destroyed on the spot. PFA also imposed fines worth Rs 348,000 on the vehicle owners involved in supplying low-quality milk.
The spokesperson added that milk transporters are checking regularly to ensure that only clean and safe milk reaches the public.
Citizens have been urged to report any complaints regarding milk quality by calling the PFA helpline at 1223.
