CPO visits Iqbal Stadium to review security for cricket series

FAISALABAD, Nov 03 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar visited Iqbal Stadium on Monday to review the security measures for the upcoming international cricket series set to begin on November 4, 2025. This marks the return of international cricket to Faisalabad after a 17-year hiatus.
During his visit, CPO Bilal Umar personally inspected the security arrangements, with particular attention given to the security personnel assigned to oversee the players’ practice sessions. He issued clear directives to ensure that senior police officers are present in the field to monitor and manage security operations during the event.
Highlighting the significance of the event, the CPO emphasized that the safety of players and spectators must be the top priority. “As international cricket returns to Iqbal Stadium, we cannot afford any lapses in security,” he stated. “There will be zero tolerance for negligence in the security operations.”
CPO Sahibzada Bilal Umar also stressed the use of CCTV cameras to monitor the stadium and its surroundings effectively. He directed a rigorous enforcement of patrolling duties by the police, including the Dolphin Force and Elite Force, both in and around the stadium as well as in nearby areas.
The CPO underscored the importance of providing a fully secure environment for the public to enjoy the cricket matches and stated that the police would leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safety of all attendees.
SSP Investigation Nasir Mehmood Bajwa, CTO Faisalabad Nasir Javed, Town SPs, and other senior officers were also present during the inspection.
