RAWALPINDI, Aug 02 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir, conducted a citywide visit on Sunday to review security and traffic arrangements for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly refugee seat elections.
During the visit, the CPO inspected security measures at polling stations and directed officers to ensure strict implementation of the election security plan. Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) and the Chief Traffic Officer briefed the visiting officials on the security and traffic management arrangements.
According to CPO, more than 3,300 police officers and personnel have been deployed across the district to maintain law and order and manage traffic during the polling process.
He said senior police officers were present in the field to supervise and monitor security and traffic arrangements, while comprehensive security measures had been put in place at all polling stations.
The CPO added that police station mobile units, the Elite Force, and Dolphin Squad teams were conducting continuous patrolling across the city to ensure a peaceful polling environment. He reiterated that effective security arrangements would remain in place until the completion of the election process to ensure peaceful and transparent polling.
