ISLAMABAD, Nov 10 (APP):The District and Sessions Court on Monday issued arrest warrants for former Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas in a case related to the alleged misuse of a diplomatic passport.
The court directed authorities to arrest and produce Ilyas before the court in the next hearing. Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal presided over the proceedings of the case.
During the hearing, Ilyas’ counsel filed an application seeking exemption from personal appearance, which the court rejected. Following the decision, the court ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to ensure compliance with the arrest order.
The FIA had previously registered a case against Ilyas over the alleged illegal use of a diplomatic passport after his tenure as AJK Prime Minister ended.
The court adjourned further proceedings until November 24.
