Court extends Bushra Bibi’s interim bail in Nov 26 protest case

ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (APP):The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Tuesday extended the interim bail for Bushra Bibi in a case linked to the November 26 protest and restrained police from arresting her until the next hearing, officials said.
The hearing was held by Additional District and Sessions Judge Aamir Zia. The court accepted the request to extend interim bail and ordered that Bushra Bibi should not be arrested in the related case during the bail period.
The court adjourned the hearing on the bail application until February 18 and directed that the matter be taken up on the next date as scheduled. The order will remain in effect until further proceedings.
Advocate Shamsa Kiyani appeared before the court on behalf of Bushra Bibi and presented arguments in support of the bail request. The court recorded the appearance and proceeded to issue directions for the next hearing.
According to court records, the case against Bushra Bibi has been registered at Ramna Police Station. The FIR includes provisions of the PAPO Act along with other sections related to the protest.
The court stated that further proceedings will continue on February 18, when arguments on the bail application will be heard.
