PESHAWAR, Feb 03 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) KP, Zulfiqar Hamid, chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO) Peshawar to thoroughly reviewed law and order situation.
During the meeting, participants were issued necessary instructions for tightening the noose around the neck of miscreants.
Additional IGs Operations Mohammad Ali Babakhel, Special Branch Kashif Alam, Headquarters Abbas Ahsan, Commandant SSU Ghulam Mubashir Maiken, DIG Operations Shakir Hussain Dawar, CCPO Peshawar Dr. Mian Muhammad Saeed and DIG Headquarters Abbas Majeed Marwat attended the meeting. While all Regional and District Police Officers participated via video link.
IGP Zulfiqar Hamid emphasized that eliminating terrorism and lawlessness was the prime responsibly of the KP Police.
He directed officials to strengthen Human Intelligence network to track down terrorists and criminals effectively.
“We will bring every perpetrator and facilitator to justice by leveraging robust intelligence and proactive policing,” the IGP stated.
The IGP directed the participants to chalk out a comprehensive security plan for the coming holy month of Ramazan.
It was also directed to carryout security audit of all mosques and places of worship to ensure the safety of citizens during the prayers.
IGP strictly directed the participants to provide fool proof security to foreign nationals and tourists. The forum was briefed on the security measures for the ongoing anti-polio drive in the province.
IGP, Zulfiqar Hamid reiterated police’s commitment to protecting polio workers, stating, “We are dedicated to securing the future of our children,” and directed that daily security reports be submitted to his office.
He instructed all officers to enhance coordination with other law enforcement and security agencies to dismantle criminal networks and thwart any nefarious designs of the outlaws effectively.
The Police chief urged the force to maintain an unbiased, professional, and coordinated approach to policing.
He reaffirmed that the ultimate goal was to transform Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a “cradle of peace” through merit-based and relentless law enforcement.
