DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Oct 16 (APP): The district police of Dera Ismail Khan made comprehensive security arrangements for the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F)’s Mufti Mehmood Conference held at Baisakhi Ground on Thursday.
The conference, organized by JUI-F, attracted a large number of participants, religious scholars, and delegations from different parts of the district and adjoining areas.
The annual event is held to pay tribute to the religious, political, and social services of late Maulana Mufti Mehmood and to highlight his contributions toward Islamic values and national unity.
According to police sources, foolproof measures were taken under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada to ensure the peaceful conduct of the gathering.
A detailed security plan was implemented with the deployment of additional police contingents at and around the venue, while all entry and exit points were strictly monitored. Walk-through gates were installed and participants were subjected to thorough checking to maintain law and order.
The DPO had earlier inspected the arrangements personally and directed all officers and personnel to remain vigilant, alert, and perform their duties with utmost professionalism and commitment.
The Dera police also maintained close coordination with intelligence and law enforcement agencies throughout the event to prevent any untoward incident.
