DERA GHAZI KHAN, Jan 18 (APP):Commissioner Dr. Nasir Mehmood Bashir has taken strong action in response to unnecessary delays in the approval process for housing colonies in the Dera Ghazi Khan division.
Departments responsible for issuing no-objection certificates (NOCs) have been instructed to provide explanations for the delays.
The issue was discussed in a meeting, chaired by Commissioner Dr. Nasir Mehmood Bashir, where it was decided that such delays would no longer be tolerated. The commissioner said that prolonged approval processes create opportunities for fraudsters and scammers, and these would be thoroughly addressed.
The commissioner said that all illegal housing colonies would be sealed, and the quality of newly-constructed roads would be closely monitored to ensure compliance with standards. He also highlighted the importance of enforcing axle load management on major highways to prevent road damage, caused by overloaded vehicles. He stressed that steps must be taken immediately to protect road infrastructure, as overloaded trucks contribute to accelerated wear and tear.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed progress on the Suthra Punjab (Clean Punjab) initiative and other related issues, with directives issued for further improvements in these areas.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners Muhammad Usman Khalid, Shafqat Ullah Mushtaq, Munawar Hussain, Qurat-ul-Ain Memon, Ameera Baidar, and other senior officials.
