Commissioner, RPO visit Jhelum to review Muharram security arrangements
RAWALPINDI, Jun 25 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Range Babar Sarfraz Alpa visited District Jhelum on Thursday to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
During the visit, the officials were accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Mir Raza Azgan and District Police Officer (DPO) Jhelum Shafiq Ahmed Chaudhry.
The officials inspected an ongoing religious gathering (majlis) in the Asadabad area of Mangla Cantt Police Station jurisdiction and reviewed security arrangements on the ground.
The visiting officers examined duty deployment of police personnel, security arrangements, entry and exit points, walk-through gates, CCTV monitoring systems, and other precautionary measures in place for the majlis.
They directed concerned officers to utilize all available resources to ensure foolproof security during Muharram, maintain strict vigilance against miscreants, and ensure peace and order at all costs.
DPO Jhelum Shafiq Ahmed Chaudhry briefed the Commissioner and RPO regarding the overall security plan for Muharram, deployment of personnel, and monitoring mechanisms across the district.
The Commissioner and RPO expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements and directed all officers and personnel to remain alert and perform their duties diligently to maintain a peaceful environment.
RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa said that all available resources will be utilized to ensure peace, maintain law and order, and provide a secure environment for mourners during Muharram processions and gatherings.
