SARGODHA, Jul 30 (APP):Commissioner Sargodha Division Jahanzeb Awan on Wednesday presided over a meeting to review sugar prices, demand, supply, and stock.
All Deputy Commissioners from four districts attended the meeting.
According to Commissioner office spokesperson here, the commissioner has directed strict enforcement of fixed sugar prices, directing legal action against wholesale dealers and shopkeepers who violate the rates.
He directed the DCs for monitoring of sugar mills and maintenance of comprehensive records of their stock and sales, ensuring a transparent and effective sugar distribution process to provide relief to consumers.
He said that immediate action will be taken against hoarders and profiteers to ensure sugar availability at fixed rates.
the DCs briefed the Commissioner that Sargodha Division has sufficient sugar stock, meeting market demand, adding that Magistrates are enforcing fixed prices.
They informed that Sargodha Division’s sugar mills are supplying sugar to six other districts in the province.
