SUKKUR, Feb 02 (APP): Commissioner Sukkur Abid Saleem Qureshi is actively promoting sports development in the region.
He, on Monday, praised SSWMB Managing Director Tariq Ali Nizamani for his efforts in supporting sports activities and city cleanliness.
Qureshi inaugurated a basketball tournament at Physical Education College, Sukkur, emphasizing the importance of sports in showcasing youth talent. He stated that the Sindh government is committed to promoting sports.
The Commissioner also reviewed ongoing sports development schemes in Sukkur, Khairpur, and Ghotki, directing officials to ensure quality work and organize more sports activities for youth.
In a meeting with sports officials, Commissioner Sukkur stressed the need for rules and regulations for sports clubs and announced plans to visit the Sukkur Sports Club to assess facilities.
The Sukkur Sports Complex, with facilities for cricket, football, squash, and other sports, is nearing completion, with 80% of work done. The complex aims to host national and international events, providing world class facilities to local players.
