SARGODHA, Jan 01 (APP):Commissioner Sargodha Jehanzaib Awan on Thursday visited the site of rehabilitation work on the long-neglected park located in Block Y, New Satellite Town.
According to the spokesperson for the Commissioner’s office here, as part of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Green and Clean Punjab vision, the restoration of parks across Sargodha is progressing at a rapid pace.
Managing Director Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Muhammad Arshad and Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Majid bin Ahmed accompanied him during the visit.
On the occasion, the commissioner was informed that the park will be upgraded with modern facilities including a walking track, canopy, boundary fencing, children’s play equipment, plantation and other family-friendly amenities.
Officials informed that this is the 14th park in Sargodha being restored by PHA on the special directives of Commissioner Jehanzaib Awan.
The commissioner directed the authorities to ensure that the project is completed at the earliest without compromising on quality standards.
Interacting with local residents, the commissioner urged the public to cooperate with the administration in safeguarding and maintaining the park, terming it a shared civic responsibility.
The residents welcomed the initiative and expressed satisfaction over the park’s restoration, thanking the district administration and PHA.
They assured full cooperation and pledged to take ownership of the park to ensure its long-term preservation.
