Commissioner reviews RDA performance, calls for transparent, citizen-centric governance

RAWALPINDI, Jul 21 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani on Tuesday visited the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) headquarters and reviewed the overall performance of the authority, directing officers to ensure transparency, accountability and efficient public service delivery.
Upon his arrival, the commissioner was received by Additional Director General RDA Syed Masood Ahmad Bukhari, Director Administration Nosheen Israr and other senior officers.
During a meeting with officers at the RDA Conference Room, Salman Ghani stressed strict compliance with government policies, rules and regulations while ensuring transparency, merit, accountability and the timely disposal of official business.
The commissioner also directed officers to strengthen inter-departmental coordination, expedite ongoing development projects and further improve service delivery for the convenience of the public.
He said that the protection of the public interest, planned urban development, and the effective enforcement of relevant laws and regulations would remain the authority’s foremost priorities.
Ghani instructed the officers to maintain close coordination with all stakeholders, ensure prompt redressal of public complaints and adopt a proactive approach in resolving administrative and development-related issues.
He said negligence, unnecessary delays, and indiscipline in official duties would not be tolerated, adding that every official must perform their assigned responsibilities with dedication, integrity, and professionalism.
The commissioner reiterated that the RDA would continue to work in line with the Punjab government’s vision of transparent governance, sustainable urban development, effective regulation and efficient, citizen-centric public services.
Expressing confidence in the authority’s workforce, he said teamwork and commitment would enable the RDA to achieve its development objectives and further strengthen public confidence in the institution.
