LAHORE, Feb 24 (APP): Commissioner Marryam Khan conducted a comprehensive visit to Nankana Sahib on Tuesday to review sanitation operations, Ramadan facilities, public service delivery, and ongoing development schemes in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Nankana Rao Tasleem Akhtar briefed the Commissioner on local arrangements during the visit.
The Commissioner inspected the Sahulat Bazaar, assessing prices and quality of meat, sugar, fruits, and vegetables.
She also reviewed the display of price lists, cleanliness, parking, and other facilities to ensure smooth public access and fair market practices.
Commissioner Marryam Khan observed cleanliness operations and road washing campaigns at Gurudwara Janam Asthan and Railway Road, highlighting the importance of hygiene in public spaces. She also visited Ramadan Dastarkhwans in Nankana Sahib to check arrangements for serving the needy and reviewed decorated squares and intersections set up for Ramadan.
Development and beautification progress at Family Parks on Ahmad Shah Road and Allama Iqbal Park, including sports arenas, were also examined during the visit.
A major part of the tour was a visit to the Nigahban Ramadan Card Camp Office, where the Commissioner checked the procedure for distributing ration cards to eligible beneficiaries. She noted that over 45,000 beneficiaries in Nankana Sahib are receiving ration cards, with more than 30,000 already distributed.
Commissioner Marryam Khan also inspected the DHQ Hospital Nankana Shaib, interacting with patients’ attendants and reviewing the availability of free medicines. She also checked hospital wards to ensure cleanliness, as well as the presence and performance of doctors and paramedical staff, emphasizing quality healthcare services for the public.
