Commissioner reviews progress on Clean and Beautiful City Programme

LAHORE, Jan 03 (APP):Commissioner Marryam Khan accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza conducted field visits to Shahdara, Barkat Town, and Ravi Town as part of the ongoing Clean and Beautiful City programme.
During the visits, the commissioner reviewed green belt improvement, street cleaning, road washing, kerb stone painting, and water sprinkling operations. District administration officials briefed her that desilting of all drains across Lahore is underway, with tons of garbage being removed daily to maintain sanitation.
Commissioner Marryam Khan emphasised that the Chief Minister’s priority is a clean and green Lahore. She said inspections of drains, manhole covers, street lights, hanging wires, and other municipal services are conducted regularly to ensure compliance with directives. The Commissioner instructed all field teams, including the district administration and MCL staff, to remain actively engaged and maintain continuous oversight. She reiterated that every area of Lahore would receive equal attention and that municipal services would remain a permanent feature, highlighting that a clean city is the right of its citizens.
