MULTAN, Jan 18 (APP):Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan presided over a performance review meeting for Khanewal district on Saturday, stressing that the district performance would be evaluated based on anti-encroachment operations, price control, revenue recovery, performance indicators, and the timely completion of development projects.
Revenue officers were directed to expedite the recovery of government dues, including land and revenue, and to retrieve encroached state lands through comprehensive anti-encroachment operations across the division.
The commissioner directed that all land records be digitized and uploaded to Land Record Centers to ensure easy access for the public.
He stressed the need to simplify the process for obtaining ownership documents and inheritance certificates, adding that managing revenue matters effectively was a key responsibility for officers. “Do not neglect revenue issues while dealing with administrative matters,” he warned.
The Commissioner also instructed that monthly meetings of peace committees, petrol pump committees, and other relevant forums be convened to resolve pending cases. Additionally, revenue officers and deputy commissioners were directed to personally verify field data.
Highlighting environmental concerns, he ordered the transition of brick kilns to zigzag technology and strict action against those burning waste and plastics. He also called for the beautification and cleaning of the district’s entry and exit points, ensuring the removal of garbage dumps.
Price control magistrates were advised to enhance field inspections and ensure that essential commodities are available at government-approved rates by understanding and regulating supply chains effectively.
The Commissioner stated that funds have been released for multiple Punjab government schemes, and public interest and transparency should remain priorities in all development projects. Departments were urged to get pending schemes approved promptly and ensure their completion. Contractors failing to deliver should be blacklisted.
Deputy Commissioner Salma Suleman provided a detailed briefing on the district’s progress. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and departmental heads.
