Commissioner reviews Muharram security

SARGODHA, Jun 21 (APP): Commissioner Jahanzaib Awan visited Khushab district on Saturday to review security and administrative preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram.
During the visit, he inspected the route of the central Ashura procession and issued instructions to the concerned officials. Deputy Commissioner Khushab Farwah Amir briefed the commissioner on the arrangements for majalis and processions during Muharram. According to the briefing, a total of 871 majalis would be held across Khushab district, categorized as follows: 3 in Category A, 2 in Category B, and 866 in Category C.
Additionally, 195 processions would take place, with 7 designated as Category A, 8 as Category B, and 180 as Category C. Commissioner Jahanzaib Awan directed that no negligence would be tolerated in ensuring peace, cleanliness, lighting, provision of drinking water, parking, and other municipal services throughout Muharram.
He emphasized the activation of control rooms at the district and tehsil levels and urged continuous coordination among departments. During the visit, the commissioner also inspected the ongoing development work on Muzaffargarh road.
He was briefed by the Executive Engineer (XEN) about the pace and quality of the project and instructed that the work be completed within the stipulated time to ensure improved travel facilities for the public.
Later, Commissioner Awan toured various markets in Khushab and Joharabad to observe the post-anti-encroachment operation conditions. He instructed relevant authorities to ensure the permanent removal of encroachments, keeping in view urban beautification and public convenience. He also interacted with local citizens and listened to their feedback.
