Commissioner reviews flood situation in Mianwali

SARGODHA, Jul 16 (APP):Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan on Wednesday reviewed recent flood situation in Mianwali district.
The meeting assessed the impact of hill torrents on various areas, relief operations,
and infrastructure risks, said the spokesperson for the commissioner office here
on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by SE Irrigation Muhammad Yasar, Director Livestock Dr Arif Sultan, Director Agriculture Shahid Hussain and Coordinator PDMA Muhammad Talha while Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Khalid Goraya participated through video link.
During the meeting, the DC Mianwali informed the meeting that 19 villages had been affected by eight hill torrents/nullahs in Mianwali district, with 363 people and 53 livestock relocated to safe areas.
He said that 23 relief camps had been established across the district to provide assistance
to affected communities.
The meeting was informed about the current water flow situation at Jinnah and Chashma Barrages, with Lower Flood and Medium Flood alerts issued, respectively.
On the occasion, Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan directed relevant departments to provide immediate relief, restoration, and protection to affected areas.
He also instructed all departments to remain on high alert, ensure round-the-clock availability of machinery and personnel, and provide early warnings to areas at risk.
