RAWALPINDI, Feb 25 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Aamir Khattak visited the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) and conducted a detailed inspection of various departments to review service delivery and administrative arrangements.
During the visit, the commissioner checked the attendance of doctors, nursing staff and other personnel, and directed that strict compliance with the duty roster be ensured. He emphasised that complete availability of emergency staff must be maintained, particularly during Sehri and Iftar hours, to avoid any inconvenience to patients.
He visited the Emergency Ward, ICU and other critical departments, reviewing the availability of medical facilities and patient care arrangements. The commissioner stressed that timely medical treatment must be ensured in all emergency situations and that no obstruction in patient care would be tolerated.
Engineer Aamir Khattak also inspected the overall cleanliness of the hospital. He directed the administration to further improve hygiene standards in wards, corridors, washrooms and waiting areas to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and attendants.
Medical equipment and machinery were checked to assess their working condition. The commissioner instructed that all machinery must be maintained properly and repaired promptly to avoid disruption in treatment services.
He further directed that facilities in waiting areas for attendants be enhanced for their convenience. The Director of Health was instructed to submit a timely demand for dengue volunteers to ensure preparedness.
The commissioner reiterated that provision of quality healthcare services to the public remains the government’s top priority, adding that no negligence or lapse would be tolerated. He also directed that an effective complaint redressal system must remain fully operational to promptly address public grievances.
