SARGODHA, Dec 24 (APP): Commissioner Sargodha Division Jahanzaib Awan visited the office of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau along with Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday.
During the visit, the commissioner reviewed in detail the ongoing architectural work being carried out by the Horticulture Authority and issued clear instructions to further improve the pace and quality of construction.
Managing Director Parks Horticulture Authority briefed the officials on the progress of the work.
Director Development, Deputy Director Technical, Zahoor Elahi and other officers were also present on the occasion.
District Officer informed that the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau would be formally inaugurated next month.
He said that in the first phase, beggar and abandoned children from streets would be rescued and shifted to the welfare bureau, where they would be provided education and training in a safe environment. Initially, arrangements are being finalised for 50 children, who would be provided education up to the primary level.
The commissioner and deputy commissioner also inspected various sections of the building and said that child rehabilitation and education are among the top priorities of the Punjab government.
They directed the concerned departments to ensure there is no negligence in establishing and operationalising the institution so that children could be provided timely and quality facilities.
