LAHORE, Nov 29 (APP): Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan conducted an extensive visit from Shalimar Chowk to Daroghawala, Cooper Store Road, and Mughalpura Chowk to review progress under the Clean City–Green Lahore mission, here on Saturday.
During the inspection, she examined cleanliness arrangements, green belts, desilting work, pothole repairs, curb stone and zebra-crossing paint, and overall beautification efforts.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza, CEO LWMC Babar Sahib Din, and officers from PHA, TEPA and MCL accompanied her, while AC Shalimar Saqib Tirmizi provided an on-spot briefing. Teams of LWMC, PHA, TEPA, MCL and other departments were visibly engaged in the clean city operation throughout the route.
Commissioner Marryam Khan said the administration’s complete focus is on cleanliness, greenery, and beautification in accordance with the Chief Minister’s instructions. She noted that after sweeping, roads are being washed with water to help control smog and reduce pollution. She added that 45,000 plants will be planted along key drains passing through the city, in addition to the 20,000 already planted to strengthen Lahore’s green cover.
The Commissioner directed that city lighting, green belts and rehabilitation works be completed strictly within assigned timelines, adding that municipal services in every area must operate as a continuous feature with field teams remaining fully active. “Every area of Lahore is equally important; a clean city is the right of its citizens,” she remarked.
Commissioner Marryam Khan also inspected cleanliness and price lists in the Shalimar Model Cart Market. She said that a clean and green Lahore remains among the top priorities of the Chief Minister, adding that area-wise lists from all tehsils have been finalized. She emphasized that daily visits are being carried out as per the improvement and beautification plan, and appreciated the staff for their performance. “The administrative teams are working in full form and round the clock to ensure 100% implementation of the Chief Minister’s directions,” she said.
