Commissioner Rawalpindi directs immediate redress of civic complaints

RAWALPINDI, Dec 24 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Aamir Khattak on Wednesday directed assistant commissioners across the division to ensure prompt redress of public complaints related to cleanliness, drainage, road repairs, streetlights and other civic facilities.
Presiding over a meeting of assistant commissioners, the commissioner emphasised the need for enhanced field presence to provide maximum relief to citizens, urging officers to take public complaints seriously and accord top priority to improving performance.
He directed all departments to regularly review their key performance indicators (KPIs) and immediately address weak areas. He also instructed the formation of effective field teams and stressed the timely installation and repair of manhole covers to prevent inconvenience to the public.
The commissioner further ordered regular monitoring of field teams and called for effective measures to fully resolve complaints regarding stray dogs, directing the relevant departments to work with clear timelines.
During the meeting, the drug inspector was instructed to conduct daily visits to markets and relevant centres to ensure effective action against substandard and illegal medicines.
Addressing beautification schemes, the commissioner said all billing must be transparent, complete and strictly in accordance with rules and regulations, warning that no irregularities would be tolerated.
The meeting, held at the Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi, was attended by the deputy commissioner Rawalpindi, additional deputy commissioner revenue, assistant commissioners of Rawalpindi Division and officers of relevant departments.
