Commissioner plants sapling at RPO office

RAWALPINDI, Nov 27 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Aamir Khattak on Thursday visited the Regional Police Office (RPO) and planted a sapling as part of efforts to promote a greener and more environmentally friendly society.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa, Additional Deputy Inspector General Malik Naeem and other senior officers were also present, an RPO spokesman said.
After planting the sapling, the commissioner reaffirmed that tree plantation was essential for building a “green Pakistan,” adding that every citizen must play an active role in environmental protection.
Speaking on the occasion, RPO Alpa said tree plantation was a crucial requirement in the fight against climate change. He added that the police would continue to remain at the forefront of initiatives for environmental protection and public welfare, noting that plantation drives would be expanded across all districts of the Rawalpindi Region.
The attendees also offered special prayers for national peace and security.
