RAWALPINDI, October 29 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting at the New DC Complex Rawalpindi to review the implementation status of directives issued by the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Chief Secretary, emphasizing efficiency, transparency and citizen facilitation in all administrative operations.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, PERA officers, and representatives from the Municipal Corporation and Health Department.
Commissioner Khattak directed that all Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) officers must carry out their field operations and inspections under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner, ensuring full coordination with local police. He stressed that no unilateral action should be taken and that the concerned police station must be informed prior to any operation.
He instructed officers to accelerate the implementation of price control measures, anti-encroachment operations, removal of wall-chalking, and other public welfare initiatives. Revenue officers were specifically directed to maintain up-to-date records and ensure prompt resolution of public complaints, with a clear directive that no case older than one month should remain pending in any court.
Discussing the ongoing ‘Clean Punjab’ campaign, Commissioner Khattak said the Chief Minister has provided all necessary resources to ensure visible improvement in sanitation. “No area should tolerate uncleanliness. Cleanliness must be ensured in every tehsil, street, and neighborhood,” he emphasized, directing officers to strictly monitor the attendance and performance of sanitation staff.
Concluding the session, the Commissioner underscored the need to implement the Chief Minister’s directives in letter and spirit, stressing that effective governance and timely action were essential to advance public welfare and improve service delivery for the common man.
