Commissioner for immediate action on revenue targets, public complaints, anti-encroachment drives

LOWER DIR, Jul 22 (APP):Commissioner Malakand Division Abid Wazir on Tuesday directed all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure strict enforcement of anti-encroachment operations, resolution of pending land and mutation cases, activation of service delivery centers and swift action on citizen complaints submitted through the Pakistan Citizens Portal and “Ikhtiyar-e-Awam” platform.
Presiding over a high level review meeting, he also instructed for launching the monsoon tree plantation campaign and regular inspection of development projects to ensure effective service delivery and public relief.
Deputy Commissioner Swat attended the meeting in person, while Deputy Commissioners and Deputy Directors of Computerization of Land Records from Swat, Buner and Shangla participated via video link.
The meeting included briefings on various topics including the Pakistan Citizens Portal, anti-encroachment operations, overall performance targets, price control, inspections, public courts (khuli kachehris), progress on the good governance framework, revenue collection, recovery of government dues, and the functionality of service delivery centers.
While presiding over the session, Commissioner Abid Wazir appreciated the overall performance of the districts.
He instructed administrative officers to ensure daily field visits and to focus on resolving public issues.
The Commissioner directed all Deputy Commissioners to convene meetings of the District Price Review Committees in their respective districts to regulate food prices and provide relief to the public.
He further instructed Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners to ensure regular inspections of development projects and government institutions in their areas.
On the issue of encroachments, the Commissioner stressed that no leniency should be shown. He directed all Deputy Commissioners to carry out impartial operations in line with revenue records and orders issued by the provincial and high courts.
He also instructed officials to take prompt action on complaints submitted by citizens through the Pakistan Citizens Portal and “Ikhtiyar-e-Awam” platform.
Commissioner Abid Wazir directed all Deputy Commissioners to initiate the monsoon tree plantation campaign to help counter future climate-related challenges. He requested the education and forest departments, as well as volunteers, to actively contribute to the success of the campaign.
Regarding revenue targets, he emphasized improved performance in accordance with assigned goals and directed Deputy Commissioners to expedite the resolution of pending land acquisition cases.
He issued specific instructions to the Deputy Commissioner Swat and Deputy Director Computerization of Land Records Swat to operationalize the pending service center in Matta without further delay.
Lastly, the Commissioner instructed all Deputy Commissioners to coordinate with respective Tehsildars to ensure timely completion of pending mutation cases and to meet recovery targets.
He warned that under the “Ikhtiyar-e-Awam” portal launched by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officers will be held accountable based on public feedback.
