CHINIOT, Dec 4 (APP): Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar toured Tehsil Bhuana on Thursday, pledging to upgrade municipal services in line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision. Highlighting the need for cultural enrichment, he announced that a public library would be set up in the tehsil’s central park by December 15, stocked with a diverse range of books to encourage reading habits among residents. During his park inspection, Anwar also called for expanded recreational facilities to boost citizen leisure.
The commissioner’s visit extended to the central graveyard, where he fined the sanitation contractor Rs 100,000 for substandard cleanliness and ordered remedial action within a week. He then inspected the tehsil headquarters, checking ward conditions and confirming the availability of medicines, which he said met his expectations. A review of the model cart market revealed satisfactory fruit and vegetable supplies, prompting Anwar to direct officials to replicate similar markets across the tehsil to improve food access.
Anwar concluded his tour at the Bhuana bus stand, directing authorities to overhaul waiting areas and public toilets and ensure overall cleanliness.
On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Sheena Azam accompanied him throughout the inspections, underscoring the administration’s commitment to swift, visible improvements in Bhuana’s civic infrastructure.
