DERA ISMAIL KHAN , Oct 15 (APP): Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division, Zafar-ul-Islam, has said that the anti-polio campaign is a national responsibility and all-out efforts will be made to ensure its complete success.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting at his office on Wednesday to review the administrative, security, and micro plans for the upcoming four-day anti-polio campaign scheduled to commence on October 20.
The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Ashfaq Anwar, Deputy Commissioner Tank Tanveer Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dera Adnan Jameel, Additional Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan (Upper), District Health Officer, and officers from the Health Department and other concerned institutions.
During the meeting, the Commissioner was briefed in detail about the preparations and security arrangements for the campaign.
Commissioner Zafar-ul-Islam directed all field staff and polio teams to perform their duties with utmost dedication and professionalism, adding that any negligence would not be tolerated. He warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against officials found guilty of dereliction of duty.
Emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility, the Commissioner said that the eradication of polio required the active cooperation of both government departments and the public. He appealed to parents to ensure that every child under the age of five receives polio drops during the campaign so that the crippling disease can be eliminated once and for all, protecting future generations from lifelong disability.
