HYDERABAD, Aug 13 (APP):To celebrate the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan with enthusiasm, a prestigious event was organized by the Social Welfare Department Tharparkar at the vocational Center, Chelhar.
According to a handout issued on Tuesday, addressing the ceremony as a special guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Tharparkar Muhammad Usman Khaskheli expressed his pride in being a citizen of a free country. He highlighted that this freedom was a blessing, earned through the unwavering dedication, tireless efforts, practical struggles and significant sacrifices of our forefathers.
Khaskheli emphasized the importance of educating the young generation, particularly students, about the heroes of the independence movement and the value of the freedom they fought for. He praised the efforts of the Iqra Anees School administration and organizers for arranging such a dignified event.
The Deputy Director Social Welfare Khainraj Singh Jarija also addressed the audience, and mentioned that the event was organized by the department to familiarize students with the sacrifices and struggles of our leaders who fought for Pakistan’s independence. He maintained that the department had established seven sewing centers in Tharparkar district to combat unemployment and provide employment opportunities to women. These centers offer six-month training programs in sewing, after which many women have started earning a livelihood by working from home.
Jarija also hinted at future projects aimed at further reducing unemployment. The event was addressed by Assistant Director Social Welfare and Child Protection Officer Tharparkar Kailash and others.
The students of Iqra Anees School Chelhar added color to the event with their performances, including tableaus, speeches, and national songs, receiving much appreciation from the audience.
