CNF busts drone-assisted drug smuggling network member in Gujranwala

LAHORE, Oct 17 (APP): Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) conducted a major intelligence-based operation in Lahore Division, dismantling a sophisticated network involved in smuggling drugs using drones.
According to a CNF spokesperson on Friday, the operation was carried out on a tip-off, during which the team demonstrated swift action and professional competence, leading to the arrest of a network member in Gujranwala.
The raiding teams successfully seized 1.32 kilograms of heroin, three drones, two sub-machine guns with 60 rounds, one pistol, and two unregistered motorcycles.
The spokesperson termed the action a significant achievement in the ongoing campaign against narcotics in Punjab. He said further investigations have been launched to trace and eliminate the entire network, including facilitators and financial backers, through advanced intelligence techniques.
In a separate operation on Oct 15, CNF teams acted on another intelligence report and carried out a raid on Hafizabad Road, Gujranwala. The operation led to the arrest of a drug dealer and the recovery of 5.5 kilograms of hashish, three kilograms of opium, 713 grams of crystal meth (ice), one pistol with two magazines, 41 rounds of 30 bore ammunition, and a motorcycle.
The CNF spokesperson reaffirmed the force’s commitment to intensify operations against drug traffickers across the province. He stated that CNF is determined to eradicate narcotics networks in line with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab: “Drug-Free Punjab – Healthy and Safe Punjab.”
