RAWALPINDI, Nov 15 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Price Control and Commodities Management, Salma Butt, on Saturday chaired a meeting to review the supply of flour and prices of roti (bread) in Rawalpindi District.

According to the Rawalpindi District administration spokesman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Abdullah Khan and the officers concerned briefed her on current supply arrangements. The officials informed the meeting that flour distribution was continuing uninterrupted.

Speaking on the occasion, Salma Butt said that no one would be permitted to smuggle or hoard flour, adding that strict enforcement of officially notified roti (bread) prices was under way. “Exploiting citizens will not be tolerated,” she remarked.

Later, the CM’s aide inspected various government warehouses to check the quality and weight of flour.

Representatives of the Nanbai Association also met her and assured that the existing roti prices would be maintained.

She further visited several tandoors (ovens) to examine the weight of roti and the quality of flour, reiterating that ensuring relief to the public was the administration’s responsibility.
