PESHAWAR, May 31 (APP):Taking notice of the reported incident in which a student allegedly died due to corporal punishment by a private school teacher in Tehsil Jamrud of Khyber District, Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur has directed the concerned authorities to submit a detailed report.
He also directed KP Private Schools Regulatory Authority to conduct a transparent and impartial inquiry and submit its findings at the earliest. He said that corporal punishment of children in educational institutions is a serious crime under the law and an intolerable act.
He said that those found guilty would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. He also directed relevant officials and institutions to take effective measures to prevent such incidents in schools.
Meanwhile, the CM extended heartfelt condolences to bereaved parents of deceased student and prayed for the departed soul and patience to the grieving family.
He assured the family that provincial government stands with them in this time of sorrow and take all necessary steps to ensure that justice is served.
