LAHORE, Sep 05 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday paid tribute to charitable organizations engaged in serving humanity and stressed the need to promote compassion,mutual cooperation and support for the underprivileged.
In her message on World Charity Day,the CM said she considered service to humanity an act of worship and a fundamental part of her political manifesto.
She added public welfare, service to humanity and charity were essential pillars for the survival and progress of society.
CM Maryam Nawaz said poverty and deprivation could be reduced through donations and charity, urging people to extend support to those in need.
She said governments,welfare organizations and philanthropists could jointly play their role in building a strong, compassionate and caring society.
“Sharing the pain of others and helping people in distress is a noble act,” she said,adding that even a small donation or act of assistance could bring a significant positive change to someone’s life.
The chief minister said the Punjab government had launched Pakistan’s first Air Ambulance Project as part of its initiatives aimed at serving humanity and providing timely emergency assistance to people in need.
