PESHAWAR, Jul 24 (APP):Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur chaired a high-level meeting to evaluate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s healthcare infrastructure.
The session was attended by prominent health experts including Prof Dr Nausherwan Burki, Chairman of KP Health Policy Board, former Governor Shah Farman, and Dr. Mudir Khan Wazir of Insaf Doctors Forum.
Participants conducted a thorough review of the province’s health services with particular attention to Medical Teaching Institutions (MTIs). The meeting stressed the urgent need for quality improvements across all healthcare facilities.
Key decisions included immediate operationalization of delayed projects like the Khyber Institute of Child Health. The government plans to upgrade District Headquarters Hospitals in non-MTI areas by deploying specialist doctors, nurses, and technical staff while modernizing equipment and infrastructure.
The measures aim to decentralize healthcare services and reduce pressure on major hospitals. The meeting also focused on enhancing specialized care at MTI hospitals to improve service delivery.
CM directed officials to implement these reforms promptly to benefit the public.
