LAHORE, Jul 07 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders for ensuring exemplary peace and outstanding public service during Muharram-ul-Haram, particularly on Youm-e-Ashura.
In a statement, the chief minister lauded the efforts of provincial ministers, scholars, the Pakistan Army, Rangers, police, district administration, and all relevant institutions. She commended their collective dedication in upholding peace, promoting unity, and showing deep respect for the mourners throughout the sacred month.
Highlighting the unprecedented level of coordination, she noted that for the first time, provincial ministers remained on the ground for ten consecutive days to directly monitor arrangements and facilitate the processions. “This commitment reflects a new standard of public service in Punjab,” she said. “The tireless efforts made to maintain law and order and ensure the well-being of mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram are truly commendable and mark a shining chapter in the province’s history,” the CM added.
She also praised the administration for providing essential services such as *langar*, cold drinks, and mineral water during the processions, especially in light of the intense heat and humidity. The use of water sprinklers to ease weather conditions was particularly appreciated. “The land of Punjab is a symbol of peace, unity, and brotherhood,” she emphasized. “I thank every individual and institution that contributed to this collective effort.”
